Background
Hashishian started out with Sur, Viktor and Jiesus in the very humble city of Kota Kinabalu at Apple studio (Shout-out to Don Linus, Khai and Jupiz) around 2012. Initially a simple fruit of smoked out drunk sessions, the three found a mutual understanding, comfort and joy within the thick droning sounds of bands like Sleep, Witch, Electric Wizard and the almighty Melvins. After Viktor who was on bass guitar duties at the time departed from the band, came Seth (Dodi) filling in for the bass guitar position and that lineup stuck through until 2014. The band has had many drummers filling in so here's a list of all of them: Rafi Amano (Riot in Asia), Hilary bin Amin (Dis-boikot, K.T.F.), Binkle Allen (Tormentor), Afiq (7HC) and Baba Ulrich (Zirconia).
The Hiatus
Hashishian went on hiatus after Jiesus had to leave Malaysia relocating to the Philippines, thus ending the band's dazed, fuzzed-out streak. The band members are still active in the music scene, most notably Jiesus in Ashtrays to Gaza. Prior to hiatus and having released two materials, a split with Thal (Columbus Ohio) "Taurean (2017)" and another split with Wicked Gypsy (Kota Kinabalu) "Saccharine Prioress (2016)", the band has never released a formal album until this one you're currently holding right now.
This Album
This album was created through online communication with the rest of the band and Aizat (Noisemongers Records / Keladak / Iron Moth / Succubus). All tracks recorded, arranged and composed by Jiesus to adjust given the distance and lack of availability in space and time with certain members of the band. More than anything, this album is an effort to at least settle a chapter in our journey as Hashishian. Due to many questioning the whereabouts of this band and any updates, we felt this is the least we can give to the love and support shown by those people asking.
